Come and farm with us!
For two generations now our family has put their heart and soul into running and working this farm. Lichtensternhof was established by grandfather Johann and his wife Anna with great effort in the 1950s, after having been forced to leave their original home in Graun (Vinschgau), where the village was flooded for the construction of an artificial lake.
Today the farm is run by farmer Toni, his wife Christina and their children Erich and Sylvia, who are both professionally employed otherwise but nonetheless join their parents in the devotion to agriculture and farming.
Our daily life is dictated by the many diverse and challenging tasks on the farm. However, we started to rent holiday apartments as an extra income source and to share the beauty of farm life with others.

A glimpse into the daily farm life
In the stable:
Our 20 cows deliver 180.000 litres of milk every year, and yes, they really do keep us busy. If you like you may give us a helping hand in the stable and your kids may see, touch and learn more about these great animals. The stable also houses our pigs who provide us with Speck (“bacon”), sausages and meat.
Dung and manure are collected to fertilize the fields.
Our chickens also need to be tended to daily so that they may provide us and our guests with farm-fresh eggs for a hearty breakfast.
Garden:
Christina has a green thumb and loves spending time in her two big vegetable and herb gardens. You are welcome to help her tend to herbs and plants and learn more about sustainable cultivation without chemical fertilizers and pesticides. You may reap your own rewards and enjoy all-natural and organic fresh herbs, veggies, home-made jams and juices.Woods:
In the winter, Toni and Christina dedicate most of their time to their beautiful and peaceful woods, conducting forest management, harvesting and cutting wood. Wood is a precious good, we even use it for the production of hot water, and the forests supply an idyllic recreational space for young and old.Fields:
We mow our fields 3 to 4 times a year. They need to be cleaned regularly and are traditionally fenced with wood. The hay we collect and store in the barn for our animals all-year-round.Apartments:
We have 3 holiday apartments and an extra room, all fully furnished and equipped with modern comfort while still having a naturally simple appeal. As a guest you are welcome to give us a hand with the daily farming tasks, or you may simply lay back, relax and enjoy the slow pace, fresh air and the beauty of nature surrounding you. Don’t hesitate to spread out in the lawn and get your share of sun, start a barbecue on our grill or let your children play on the little playground.
